Prizes in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (PEI) Student Competitions

The Faculty of Engineering has established two annual competitions in entrepreneurship and innovation for undergraduate and graduate students respectively. Taking an innovative product, technology, or service that has been technically and scientifically validated within the scope of courses or research work as the basis, participating students are required to develop business plans for the possible commercialization of that innovation. These business plans must integrate commercialization, product development, marketing, and entrepreneurship components.

Competition for Prizes in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (PEI) 2010-11

Entry submission period:
From October 14 to November 27, 2010
Register by creating an account. You can then complete the application at http://eief.myreviewroom.com.

Workshop: January 2011 (date to be confirmed)

Business case preparation: November 28, 2010 to March 4, 2011

15 minute oral presentations: Week of March 14, 2011 (date to be confirmed)

Shopify in the NY Times

You’ve probably heard that Shopify is holding a $100,000 dollar competition on creating an e-business. The NY Times just put up an article about this which you can find here: Shopify, a Start-Up, Starts Its Own Business Competition.
