Demo Night In Canada / Startup Ottawa Xmas Party
On December 9th, StartupOttawa, Microsoft and Ottawa IT Community.ca will be hosting the first ever Demo Night in Canada and Startup Ottawa Xmas Party.
The folks at Microsoft have been kind enough to offer up their presentation space for an evening during their Techdays Conference in Ottawa so we thought it would be a good opportunity to get everyone together for one last demo event of the year and a party.
- Where: Hampton Inn and Conference Centre (100 Coventry Road)
- When: December 9th at 7:00 pm.
- How: You can sign up for tickets here.
Round One: Demo Night In Canada
The event will be co-hosted by Colin Melia of Dream Digital and a leader of the .Net community and a mystery host. Presentations are going to be a mix of Ignite style talks and some longer demos of cool local "never seen before" products. Here is who is on the list to present:
Scott Lake of SWIX and ThinkSM will be giving the first ever public demo of his new social media metrics app.
Jean-Rene Roy of Technologies SoftDesign inc. will be showing Microsoft’s Sync Framework in action.
Scott Annan of Mercury Grove will not be demoing Network Hippo but instead will demo Techdrifter, a never before demo’ed co-worker discovery tool.
Charles Wiebe and John Hansen of TrackerRealm and Jetfire will be doing a demo called "This is My Language" showcasing Dynamic Language Runtime.
Ivan Paramonau of Itteco will be showcasing his new Itteco Development Platform (another first demo).
Joël Hébert of Opulent ASP Development is going to showcase the Boo Programming Language.
Islam Gommaa will show us how to implement ISO 27001
Mark Stephenson and Kareem Sultan will present the UnRealDecoy Bot Challenge
Round Two: StartupOttawa Xmas Party
Since we’ll have everyone in one place, we thought it could be a great opportunity to end the event with a Xmas party! Once we figure out how many people will sign up for Demo Night in Canada, we’ll post the location of the Startup Ottawa Xmas Party. This will likely be somewhere in the Byward Market. The good news is that Microsoft has agreed to buy some free beer for us startup folks.
