AppNotify Rocks

Attention iphone developers – local Ottawa iphone dev shop Select Start Studios just launched an awesome new product called AppNotify which makes grabbing user attention on the iphone much easier.  From founder Adam McNamara (@adammcnamara):

AppNotify is a hosted and managed system for push notifications.  This means you get reliable infrastructure, monitoring, metrics, and scaling for your iPhone applications using push.

For non-geeks, this means iphone developers can easily display text-message-like alerts on people’s phones… which is pretty awesome.

Obviously this made me start thinking of the types of Appnotifications I would want to receive on my phone.  Here’s my top 3:

1. Every time Larry O’Brien says “zero means zero” (I would chuckle every time)
2. Every time Scott Lake says “You, know, Scott Annan was right about…” (though this would become incessant!)
3. Every time Ayden Mirzae launches a new app (it would be even better if it auto-signed me up)
